Why build GoHighLevel forms in ConvertFlow
GoHighLevel's built-in forms do the job for a straightforward lead capture. They're fine until the form needs to qualify before it asks, route by answer, or be tested properly.
ConvertFlow forms sync into the same GoHighLevel contact record and trigger the same workflows, but add multi-step funnels that ask a qualifying question first, conditional paths that send different leads to different workflows, custom field values written on every answer, and A/B testing with attribution.
The contacts still live in GoHighLevel. ConvertFlow is the capture layer in front of it — which is why agencies tend to run it across client locations rather than replacing GHL.
1. Connect GoHighLevel to ConvertFlow
Head to your ConvertFlow website's Integrations area and click to connect with GoHighLevel.

GoHighLevel needs two credentials rather than one. Add the account's Private Integration Token and the Location ID of the sub-account you're connecting.

The Location ID is the part worth pausing on. It scopes the connection to a single GoHighLevel sub-account, so if you're an agency running multiple client locations, each ConvertFlow website connects to one of them. A website-per-client setup in ConvertFlow maps cleanly onto a location-per-client setup in GoHighLevel.
Once connected, ConvertFlow starts pulling in that location's lists and workflows, so you can trigger automations and segment contacts in GoHighLevel as visitors submit your forms, landing pages and surveys.
2. Keep GoHighLevel's site tracking working
This step is specific to GoHighLevel and easy to miss. For GoHighLevel's site tracking and JavaScript events to work alongside ConvertFlow's forms, GoHighLevel's tracking script needs to be installed on the same page as ConvertFlow.
With both on the page, ConvertFlow automatically uses GoHighLevel's tracking API to identify contacts who submit their email — so you keep the site-tracking behaviour you'd get from GoHighLevel's own forms, while using ConvertFlow to build the form.
3. Add a form to your campaign
Add your GoHighLevel form to a ConvertFlow landing page, popup or embed. Click to add an element and choose the "form" element type — start from a form template or build from scratch.

4. Toggle the contact fields you want
Select the form element and switch on the contact fields to request. ConvertFlow's preset fields are already configured to send to your integration's contact fields — first name and email address map to GoHighLevel automatically.

Each field can be edited from the builder panel — placeholder text, label, required state and more.

5. Verify emails and phone numbers before they reach GoHighLevel
ConvertFlow can check that an entered email address exists with its provider before the contact syncs. For lead generation that matters twice over: a fake address wastes a workflow enrollment, and it pollutes the pipeline your client is judging you on.
Phone verification does the same for numbers, and formats them to the international E.164 standard — which is what GoHighLevel's SMS and calling features expect.

6. Add consent checkboxes
Scroll below the preset contact fields and you'll find compliance checkboxes:
- Privacy consent: link to your privacy policy and terms of service alongside a required checkbox.
- Marketing consent: if your form gates content but also opts the lead into ongoing marketing, collect consent for it.
- SMS consent: require consent to SMS marketing with the required disclosures — worth having if the GoHighLevel workflow you're enrolling leads into sends texts.
7. Add custom fields and map them to GoHighLevel
By clicking to add a field at the end of the fields list, you can add as many custom fields as you'd like.

When naming the field, select from "GoHighLevel fields" — a dropdown of the custom fields that already exist in the connected location. ConvertFlow will send the value collected by this form into that GoHighLevel field.
The field has to exist in GoHighLevel first. If you're planning a form around a new attribute, create it in the location before you build and it'll be waiting in the dropdown.

Choose the field type — text, dropdown, radio selection, paragraph or hidden. Dropdown and radio options can carry score values, which is useful for lead scoring before the contact ever reaches a workflow.

8. Map ConvertFlow's preset fields to GoHighLevel
With GoHighLevel connected, your Integrations page shows a Manage button. Click it to map ConvertFlow's preset contact fields to GoHighLevel custom fields.

Click the dropdown next to a field name and select the GoHighLevel custom field it should write to. First name and email address are already mapped for you.

9. Resync when you add something new in GoHighLevel
Added a new list, workflow or custom field in GoHighLevel and it isn't showing in ConvertFlow's dropdowns yet? Click Resync and ConvertFlow pulls the latest account data.
By default ConvertFlow refreshes the integration at least once per day, so this is only needed when you've just made a change and want it immediately.

10. Style the form to match the site
In the Design tab, set spacing, field layout, width, fonts, button colour and roundness, field colour and shadows — so the form looks native to the client's site rather than bolted on.

11. Configure what happens on submit
In the Actions tab, choose what follows submission — redirect to a URL, jump to another funnel step, display a thank-you message, or open a popup.

Alongside the default action, add automations that fire on submit — including adding the contact to a GoHighLevel list or enrolling them in a GoHighLevel workflow. Both are already in the dropdown because ConvertFlow pulled them in when you connected.
Conditional actions are where this gets useful for lead gen: route by field value so a high-intent answer enrols in a different workflow than a browser, and a lead outside your service area goes somewhere else entirely.

12. Report on submissions
The funnel breakdown report shows how many people saw, converted and completed the form, where they dropped off, and which answers they selected — so you can see which questions are costing you leads before the contact ever reaches GoHighLevel.

13. Segment and personalize for GoHighLevel contacts
Once answers are landing on GoHighLevel contact records, build segments on those custom field values and target your workflows against them.
ConvertFlow can also read your GoHighLevel contact segments and personalize the site for them — so a returning lead who's already in the pipeline sees the next step rather than the same capture form.
